The JCI Regatta Story

JCI Regatta traces its roots back to the humble beginnings at Santa Maria Parish Church, where its founders laid the groundwork for establishing the local organization.
2009 National President Fulbert Woo, 2009 JCI Iloilo President Rex Chua, and JCI Regatta Charter President Elmer Usi invited the members of the Santa Maria Parish and their network of young individuals to join JCI Regatta.
The pioneer members of JCI Regatta had their new member orientation on March 23, 2009. The Lead Trainer for New Members Orientation was Coach Gleendo Damariñas. It was sponsored by JCI Iloilo led by 2009 NP Fulbert Woo, 2009 RVP Joemari Moriente, 2009 LO President Rex Chua and then VP Franjieh Eon Angelo Tiu.
The Local Organization was formally established on March 30, 2009 on the induction of its members. 2009 JCI President Jun Sup Shin of JCI Korea was the inducting officer. The Board of Directors were formally inducted to office on May 24, 2009.

JCI Regatta, established in Iloilo in 2009, derives its name from the Paraw Regatta Festival and strives to promote Iloilo, the festival, and cultivate leaders for positive community impact.

JCI Regatta empowers members through diverse opportunities in Business & Entrepreneurship, International Cooperation, Individual Development, and Community Impact, engaging in leadership development, local and international conferences, fundraisers, community projects, and conventions and competitions, fostering personal growth and societal awareness.

One of JCI Asia Pacific's Best

The tradition of excellence has been a cornerstone of the organization since it started. No less than its founding President Elmer J. Usi is an academic achiever since his elementary to college and outstanding student leader. He first joined JCI Bacolod in 1995. As a new member, he established the Talisay Jaycee Chapter Extension, the Junior Jaycees of La Salle Bacolod and lead numerous advocacies. His active leadership led him to be awarded as 1995 Area 4 Most Outstanding New Jaycee and JCI Philippines Merit Award for Most Outstanding New Jaycee.
The culture and vision of excellence of President Elmer Usi was brought to JCI Regatta when established the chapter in 2009. His sterling leadership together with the board of director led the chapter to be recognized as the Best New Local Organization in the 2011 JCI Asia Pacific Conference. JCI Regatta was also recognized as JCI Asia Pacific’s Best Community Development Project for Pinoy Icon.
The quest for excellence continues as JCI Regatta continues to LAUNCH OUT DEEPER into meaningful causes through Youth Development, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Health Promotion, and Cultural Heritage Preservation.
